You set up your Yahoo email in iphone

then on iphone from settings -> Fetch New Data -> Push (on) -> Advanced > Yahoo mail account -> Select Schedule -> Push

Whenever you get a new email, it shows up on your iphone. If you choose fetch, your iphone will check emails for every x minutes.
